What is the importance of this service?
what can happen if it's stopped?
Is this a critical service?
Does this work on demand?

It isn't critical, but if you've enabled any sort of remote management and if you plan on managing the server remotely then it must be running. This is the service and protocol that Microsoft is slowly transitioning to instead of relying on RPC, DCOM, and WMI.

Hi Cliff

Thanks for the info

I am trying to start the service but I can't. It says that it works under demand. Also, I am accessing this server through RDP, so i mean, remotely.

Remote management and remote desktop are two different things. Unless you have a compelling reason to be changing it, I'd leave it alone.

Ok so, i have to leave it as it comes. It should work when needed, right?

If you'd enabled remote management, yes. It is an easy thing to test. If you can use server manager running on a remote machine to restart the server then it is working.
