Configure IIS and access to another DB server

I have a unit of web server which hosted outside.
I have a web app which need to configure in the IIS (Win Server 2008).
I have added in the app pool of IIS Manager by choosing .NET framework v4.0.30319 and classic mode.
then 'Site' --> 'Default Website' --> 'Add Application'.
I had chosen the application path too and with port 8081.
I had another sql database server which is located at my office Network.
How am I going to link the above web app to read the database located in my office?

Either create a VPN and connect as if it were on the same local network, or you put your database on an external IP address so it can be accessed over the web. Then you'd need to limit the database server to only accept connections from the hosted web app.

You may have some latency because of the physical distance between app and database.
