My screen is black when I RDP into my new 2012 server

I can RDP into my server OK from within the network but from outside it connects but  I just get a black screen.
My internal port is 3389 and my external port is 3398

Eventually it says "An internal error has occurred"

Take a look at your firewall and router forwarding rulesif they are pointing to the correct IP.

port 3398 . are you then forwarding on the your server on the router/firewall. if not then forward it to and it should work.

OMG

I rebooted the server and left it overnight and now it is working
