After initial configuration of new Dell Equallogic PW M4110e array an attempt was made to upgrade the CMC firmware to Version 4.5. i then had to reconfigure the array for a an entirely new network; now when trying to configure array the following error message appears:

IP address for network interface []: 10.0.1.10
   Netmask [255.255.255.0]:
   Default gateway [10.0.1.1]:

Initializing interface eth0.  This may take a minute...........
*** Interface eth0 failed to connect to the network.  Please establish a network link to eth0.
       Please try again.

Any help with this would be appreciated.  TIA,

Please verify the controller you are working on is the active controller and of course that you have a link light. From what I remember the EQL forces you to have a link to config the port.
