I recently installed SQL Server Express 2014 with Advanced Services. Does it have a built in tool to create reports?

You'll need SQL Server Express 2014 With Advanced Services (SQLEXPRADV).

I installed SQL Server Express 2014 With Advanced Services. During installation, there were options about reporting services configuration.

Sorry, you'll also need SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT, formerly BIDS). This is the development environment for creating reports. You'll also need to set up your report server if you haven't already.

I read a posting on a web site last night that SSDT is not compatible with Visual Studio Express 2013. Can you confirm this?

I just read that SSDT is included in Visual Studio Express 2013 as in the link shown below. Do you agree?

If you already have VS2013, you can just get the BI templates here:

I believe that SSDT, like BIDS before it, is a "slimmed down" version of VS that's just for business intelligence projects.

I do not have VS2013. I'll download Visual Studio Express 2013 and find out if it includes SSDT.

I installed Visual Studio Express 2013 and it did not include SSDT. When I tried to install SSDT I got the errors shown below. I then installed Report Builder without any errors. Thank you, Russell.
