Where are the files in the machine you are trying to access?  If in c:\users\otheruser then you may not be able to access.

Copy the files in the other machine to c:\temp and see if you can access these. Make sure c:\temp is permitted to Everyone for starters.

You may have a permission problem.

    Accepted Solution

Created a new "Home Group" and "WorkGroup". Joined all units to same, now network is complete
