What is required to install in remote desktop server services - windows server 2008R2 for VMs internet access ?

Hi!

I have a lab with a hyper-v host with windows server 2012 R2 (in work group).

I have many vms since Windows Server 2003 including WS 2012 R2.

My colleagues an I wan't to access lab vms from desktop (windows 7 e 8) from the internet.

My understanding this can be accomplished with remote desktop server services. What I need minimum
to install in version Windows Server 2008 R2 sp1 (enterprise edition) 64 Bits ? Best Regards

Best regards

Nothing special needs to be installed. But if you don't want to mess with mapping multiple public IPs or ports then Remote Desktop Gateway can be used. This does, however, require RDS CALs, just as if you were setting up a terminal server. So it can get costly.

About RDS CALs are really required ? may I use the included cals for each os ? ex: 3 for ws2003 and so on ..

No. RDS CALs are required if you install any RDS component. That includes installing the RDGateway role.
