Reoganize images to/from a given directory

I need a solution (open source or otherwise) that I can supply a directory path to and I can reorganize the photo order (via AJAX drag/drop interface) ...

Please advise thank you.

Example:

pictures.php?directory=./4057

And the script will read the images from the directory and allow me to drag/drop to reorder them (the script will store the reordering in a MySQL db or some other storage medium (file name and order)

greetings Mark Moskowitz, , there may not be a premade setup-solution for your requirements, as this involves BOTH specific code (programming to get file listings) for both the PHP server, AND browser specific code for display of file list, AND a "drag and drop" browser GUI , AND browser AJAX communication to-from the server to store sort order. You request sounds to me to be an entire web application development project, and I do not have time to do that for you.
Do you have code now that we can help you with? Then we can make suggestions to further your development.

JQUERY has a DIV sortable with drag and drop, JQUERY can also help wid AJAX POST.
