I have a need to stream video from a library on a server

I have a client who receives videos from a their partners.  They copy these videos onto their server and then employees can watch them as needed.  There is no issue on the local network however it is simply not practical for remote users.

The technical aptitude at this client is not real high so I need a simple solution.  I was hoping for a web based streaming server of some sort that could simply read what videos are in a directory and make them available for the employees as needed.  We will have to host this server at our location as the client is concerned about confidentiality, and the cost to store these in the cloud indefinitely would be prohibitive.

Is anyone aware of such a product?
