Dell 7700HD Projector App Conflict with Microsoft Office

We have a Dell 7700HD projector which we like with one exception.  The projector control app that connects your computer to the projector intercepts the CTRL+DownArrow keyboard sequence; which is used heavily by MS Office.  This is very annoying since we utilize Office a great deal.  Two questions:
1. Is there a way modify the projector app so that it does not intercept that key combination?
2. Is there an alternate way to connect to the projector (via the network -- not by using direct attach cable) that would not require the included software to be used.

The user guide includes numerous ways to setup the projector; but, does a lousy job of describing the software:
ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_display_projector/esuprt_projector/dell-7700hd_User%27s%20Guide_en-us.pdf

What is the name of their software package?

It's just called Dell 7700 Full HD.  It is downloaded from the web interface of the projector.  I could zip it and send you a link to it if you want to take a look at it.  I'm also curious if there is another way to connect to the projector (i.e. directly from Windows 8?) via the network, or do we have to use the included app to display a laptop screen.

Thanks.
I hate to say it; but, IMHO, you're scr*wed on the Dell side; but, you can add your own hotkeys in Office to get past it (which is a pain, sorry)
Which version of Office and which program?
Office 2013.  Excel.  The CTRL+ DownArrow sequence is used to move to the end of a line (very heavily used) and now also to switch between sources on the projector app.  You can imagine the headache.
Try this guide and see if you can change the hotkey assignment: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/custom-shortcut-key-office-2013/
Nope.  Unless I'm missing something.  There is some mention that Word allows for some additional customization, but Excel is the real issue anyway.  There is a lot of talk about macros, but only to ADD functionality.  I essentially want to remove the keyboard shortcut (or preferably change it to something else.)
