SharePoint point to different WFE and different SQL

We're running a test, so we cloned three servers. A WFE, the SQL, and the APP server.

I need the APP server (being cloned, has it's old config, pointing back to the production WFE and DB) to point to the newly cloned servers.

RE-install SharePoint fresh in the cloned farm, with different service accountes. Sounds like a long time to do that, but takes the mystery out of "is this going to work? Am I going to mess up live because I forgot a setting somewhere?"

    Hope that helps

The answer provided (re-install) was not the answer I was seeking. The answer was "Yes, it is possible by running the configuration wizard". Within it, you can change your connection to any of the servers.

Sorry SneekCo, a re-build wasn't an option at this time.

Don't trust the configuration wizard. It looks good, until one day your developer has deleted all of your web apps because he was connected to the prod farm and didn't know it. Been there, done that...

    Good luck.
