How to use Hyper-V replica as primary.

Have a 2012 Server (server A) with a number of VM's all replicating to a 2012R2 Server (server B).

Want to failover the VM's to the 2012 R2 server and then leave them there so that the 2012 server can be replaced with a 2012R2 server.  Once the old 2012 server has been replaced with a 2012R2 server (server C) I will want to split some of the VM's onto each server with Replication services working both ways. Half the VM's on one server B, the other half on server C.

My question is, once I failover the VM from server A to server B, how do I leave that VM on server B permanently in preparation for ultimately for later re-enabling replication to the new 2012R2 server C ?

Thanks in advance

For that you have to do a planned Failover (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831759.aspx - step 6)

That was half of it.

Planned failover assumes you are going backwards (eventually) which we are not.

I figured it out, just do a planned failover then remove replication on the new server.  All done !
