sync sharepoint 2013 tasks with outlook

We have created tasks within a SharePoint 2013 site. Now I am trying to sync the tasks in SP with my Outlook (which is connected to an Exchange server on a completely separate domain). SharePoint is telling me that the sync feature is not enabled, but I do not see where I would go to enable it.

What steps am I missing to allow me to enable task syncing from SP to Outlook?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

From the Ribbon menu, click on “Sync to Outlook” on “Sync to Outlook” buttonIn the “Sync Tasks with Microsoft Outlook” modal dialog window, check the “Sync tasks” option. Now your Outlook account will include both Exchange and SharePoint tasks in the same view. All that's left to do is to perform the tasks Smile

Layaraja - Thanks for this input. I think I found what I needed here....

The "Sync to Outlook" button is a new feature in SharePoint 2013 and is different from the "Connect to Outlook" button in SharePoint 2010, and this new feature in Sp2013 also needs the Exchange Server 2013 installed in your environment, you can read the following article for details. If you do not use E2013 you can get the "Connect to Outlook" button back (like SP2010) by disabling the "Exchange Task Sync feature" from Central Administratio without installing Exchange 2013, the following is extracted from the white paper.

"How to disable SharePoint Server and Exchange Server integration.
To disable it, you turn off the Farm Level Exchange Task Sync feature by going to Central Administration -> Manage farm features. This action deletes the timer job and disables the UI integration, bringing back the legacy sync behavior to Outlook. "
Once I did the above I was able to start syncing tasks
