Double check in your BIOS that the processor's virtualization technology is enabled. If it isn't, it will only be able to run 32bit guests.

Although if you are running Hyper-V it should be on...

If it is on in the BIOS, you may first have to make sure that Hyper-V isn't running. Hyper-V probably monopolizes the CPU's VT features and makes VirtualBox think your CPU doesn't have that feature.

Hi Rindi I've checked the BIOS just to make sure but as you say I'm running Hyper-V with a VM running 64BIT WIN7. I have stopped the Hyper-V service running as that was a good idea but still I'm unable to load anything in virtualbox as 64 BIT which is annoying to be honest. Do you have any other ideas how I can resolve this issue?

Hi Rindi - I've worked it out :) Basically your correct but the solution is to uninstall the Hyper-V for windows and features

That's what I was going to suggest next. I was hoping that just disabling it (and stopping all it's connected services) would be enough.
