SharePoint 2013 .stp file

I am running Sharepoint Foundations 2013.  I have a template named Coolstuff.fwp.stp located in my "List Template Gallery".  I would like to use this template to build a custom list similar to one that I already have.  I can't figure out the steps that I need to take to build the list using this template.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. so understanding it correct you have a list template created and have that under list template gallery. If this is the case. you can create new list based out of the template.
1. Navigate to Site and Click on “Settings” wheel.Click on “Add an app” or go to “View All site Content” and then click “Add an App”.
2.Select “Custom List” from the “Your Apps” page.
3.Give the name of the List in the Popup and click Create.
you are done. new list is created using the template you have

Great link and solution.  Having seen that, it appears that my template is not showing in the "Apps you can add".  None of my templates are.  Do you think I have to enable something?

Using other custom lists is not getting me the formatting that is in the template.  I posted two screen shots.

Thank you!

Thank you for your help!  I am going to award you the points as you solution should work.  My configuration has some issues which I will get taken care of, but I think those are outside the scope of the original question.  I will re-post if I am still having trouble.
