Network File Sharing
I have a problem connecting to a Windows 2012 R2 server through a 10Gbe Network card.
Server 1: Windows 2012
1 Gbe Network Card: 192.168.1.65
10Bge Network card: 11.0.4.10
Both have Client for MS Windows and File sharing turned on
Server 2: Windows 2012 R2
1 Gbe Network Card: 192.168.1.90
10Bge Network card: 11.0.4.1
Both have Client for MS Windows and File sharing turned on
I can connect from Server 1 to Server 2 using \\192.168.1.90\Share
I can connect from Server 2 to Server 1 using \\192.168.1.65\Share
I can NOT connect to Server 1 to Server 2 using \\11.0.4.1\Share
I can connect from Server 2 to Server 1 using \\11.0.4.10\Share
So this does not make much sense. I need to connect from Server 1 to Server 2 using the 10Gbe connection as we are moving VMs and need a LARGE pipe. Unfortunately I can not "Pull them from Server 2" Since Server 1 has to move them.
Thanks in advance.

Other OS level? I stated both version above or perhaps I don't understand what you mean
The Subnet is 255.255.255.0 on all IPs

No because there is no default gateway set for this Nic. It also is a direct connect ... Not that it matters but there is no switch involved. I CAN ping server 2 from server 1 so packets are being sent.
I was more concerned about it being routed out the default gateway of the 192.168.1.0/24 NIC as it wouldn't recognice the IP as local, but if you are getting ping responses, in both directions, that is not the case.

Have you tried to uninstall and re-install the adpater on your problem server? Any chances things like flow control, jumbo packets or TX RX Offload are enabled or configured?
Also, Rob brings up a good point. You didn't state, but make sure firewall is turned off on both servers for testing purposes. I've seen way weirder things happen and all to blame on Microsoft's terrible firewall.
Have you verified on the working side, what your throughput is?

Ok so I disabled the firewall on Server 2 and it works! so help me out. What do I need to open in order to allow file sharing? I can't leave it off.
You May have to do a little tinkering:
Turn the firewall back on and go to administrative tools | Windows Firewall with advanced security | inbound rules.
Locate the rules with green check circles labeled File and Print Sharing. Check the "Scope" tab for each under properties, within the "Local IP Address" settings. You will likely find some that show one subnet and not the other. These are the key ones you are looking for. You can add the IP of the server that is to connect, or the subnet using the format 123.123.123.0/24. Many will just show "Any IP Address" so you can ignore those.
The tinkering part is you may have to also adjust some such as "Core Networking", but I am not sure of which, if any.

Forgot about this post. :P
So I think my issues was related to Cluster Networks. I changed the whole IP and Subnet of both computers and we able to access it. I was trying to copy large VHDs from an old cluster to a new cluster on a NIC that was not yet using for an iSCSI channel. I think the Cluster grabbed the IP range and was preventing it from communicating properly. After I changed the firewall it worked but then the next time it stopped.

Also, what are the subnets for both 10GBE cards? Please list ipconfig /all for both on both servers.
