Right Click on the desktop and you have View and Sort by. <br />

In View, unclick Auto Arrange and click Align to grid (I keep things neat).<br />

I have nothing selected in Sort and the icons go where I place them. <br />

I'm running Windows 7, and all of a sudden my desktop icons began periodically sorting themselves. &nbsp;I think (but I'm not certain) that it happen when I reboot, and I'm certain that I am not accidentally sorting them. &nbsp;Is there anything that can be causing this that I can undo or prevent?<br />
