I have an exchange 2010 server and a user is receiving bounced emails she did not send. What could be happening here?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That sounds very much like NDR spam where a spammer has spoofed an email (or several) that claim to come from her account and the recipient of the spam is rejecting the messages and the bounce-back goes to the spoofed sender, which is your user.

If you publish an SPF record, that should help others to reject spoofed emails as spam and also install / configure some good Anti-Spam tools such as Vamsoft ORF Fusion ( - that should solve the problem for you.
