Outlook 2013 won't search

I have come to realize that my Outlook 2013 is not searching messages / that is it's not finding any that are even obviously there!
I've run the scanpst repair process and there's been no change.
The .pst file is 1.7GB in size - so that should be OK, eh?

Go to Outlook, Options, Search and make sure the options are set to search through your PST file (or all mailboxes as the case may be). The default out of the box setting is just for Inbox.

Those options are set and it makes no difference.
The next step is to look in the Windows index options, make sure that locations include Users and Outlook and them rebuild the index.
Those were included already....
See if Windows Search is working completely and well.  If that is the case, then try uninstalling Office 2013, restart and then reinstalling Office 2013.

That did it! The searches had been including a high-capacity backup drive.
