The processing of calendar and tasks was introduced within Exchange 2010 SP2UR4. You really have two options:

    1) you can create a retention policy tag (not a default policy tag) and set it to "disabled", then assign this to the calendar default folder. Afterwards assign the RPT to the retention policy in question and then force run the MFA (Managed Folder Assistant)
    2) You can enter in the following registry key within Exchange, restart the server (which is my recommendation) and the allow the MFA to update automatically (or force run it):

        Path: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeMailboxAssistants\Parameters
        Name: ELCAssistantCalendarTaskRetentionEnabled
        Type: DWORD
Value: 0 = Do not process Calendar and Task folders
        Value: 1 = Process (default with RU4)
