Hi guys,

We still have some applications that runs old MySQL data bases and until some time ago we didn't have any problems to use them.

We are using:

WinMySQLadmin 1.4
MySQL Control Center 0.9.4
MyODBC 3.51

I already share the C:/Mysql folder

This time I'm using a workgroup and I can see all the computers, the problem is when I try to test the connection with myODBC and this error appears:

Host "computer-name" is not allowed to connect to this MySQL Server

Thank you so much in advance !!!

I almost always set up connections with IP addresses and not host names.  Check the user privileges that you are trying to use to make sure that "computer-name" is allowed to connect.

I don't know of any reason to share "C:/Mysql".  That does not enable remote computers to connect to the database.

Thank you Dave

Actually I already test it with IP addresses and the same result.

I just wanted to share the same data base with laptops outside the office but just for 2 hours, so I did it locally on three laps.
