    Accepted Solution

    Connect to your MYSQL database as the user you want to view permissions of and type the following in the MYSQL console:

    Open in new window

    You can also do the same for a different user by typing the following:

    SHOW GRANTS FOR [user];

    Open in new window

    SHOW GRANTS FOR 'root'@'localhost';

    Open in new window

    Author Comment

    What does the following mean?

    | GRANT USAGE ON *.* TO 'chris'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD '*6C8989366EA
    F75BB670AD8EA7A7FC1176A95CEF4' |

    Open in new window

    Also, is it normal to get duplicate users with

     select user from mysql.user;
