Adobe Illustrator CS6 - font not found

Hi - I'm on Win7 with CS6. I opened an .ai file and get this:

AI missing font
I have this font. And I also uploaded it to the fonts directory. Still get the error.

Any help much appreciated.

Are you sure the font has been registered on the pc?
Double clicking the font should bring up the registration window
Trevor LocalAuthor Commented:
Yes - when I clicked "install" it prompted that it was already installed and asked if I wanted to replace it.
And after installing it did you restart Illustrator, it won't see newly registered fonts until you restart it.

No - I didn't install it. It was already installed.

I went ahead and tried the reinstall though. And yes, restarted Illustrator.

On rare occasions, Adobe can "hic-cup" when a font has a different version number, causing it to think that this is different font. Very frustrating trying to track it down.

A quick workaround is to go ahead and open the file, then go to type>find font. There in the top box will be a list of the fonts in the file, with the missing fonts marked with an asterisk. Below, you can select fonts in your system.

Simply select the "missing" LuchidaSans and substitute your system's LuchidaSans.

That should take care of it on your machine. Hopefully you can then open the file on a different system and its LuchidaSans will still be recognized.
