configuration between cat 6500 VSS and NX-7010 VPC
Hi ,
PFA of my Network proposal to customer.
Brief about design :
1. We have two sites , Site A has enterprise data center
Site B has Nexus datacenter for servers
2. Site A have 6500 chasis with VSS configured and Site B has 7k,5k,2k with vPC configured.
3. Site A have two firewalls connected to 6500 VSS pair for internet access
4. Site B have two routers connected for MPLS links , one link is local country and other link to international link.
Now i am preparing for Solution document.
I need your expert assistance on the Following
1. Cat 6500 configured VSS and N7K paired with vPC. I would need to give connectivity between 7K pair to 6500 VSS pair.
I read that with vPC , we cannot make L3 adjacencies with vPCeers then suggest the recommended connectivity between VSS pair and 7K forL3 communication with OSPF routing protcol.
How it load balance the traffic between VSS to 7K devices.?
2. At my datacenter , I have suggested single sided vPC, CAN I MAKE DOULBLE SIDED vPC MEANS 5k vPC pair and 7k vPC pair same time?
What is the advantages of double sided vPC?
3. 6500 VSS pair connects to 2 firewalls ,what configuration is best at FW high availbility , is active /standby or Active /Active? what is the connectivity between VSS to both firewalls?
It's realy appreciate if you could provide solution so that i can go for solution document.

I would like to have Double sided vPC is at cisco nexus 7k and cisco 5K , shall it possible? any concerns in design level?

Yes. You can have double-sided vPC between 5K's and 7K's.
Your firewall question does not pertain to VPC. You should open a searpate question for that.

Will you pls share the configuruation if two Datacenter having 6500 chasis with VSS technologies menas Site-A having VSS and SiteB having VSS pair then
1. what would be the connectivity between them ,
2. how to configure Up links beteen them and
3. how to provide redundancy configuration
4. If OSPF is the Routing protocl , how to configure?

Double-sided vPC is just vPC in both directions. The advantage is getting the benefit of etherchannel between two vPC capable devices.
In your diagram, you wouldn't be doing double-sided vPC since the 6500's don't do vPC. You could, however, accomplish the same result by doing vPC on the 7000's and VSS (with etherchannel) on the 6500's.
