Excel 2007 Import from CSV into Excel Date Formatting Issue

When I import a file from CSV into Excel the dates imported change from UK formatting to a mixture of both US and UK.  For example,

5/23/2013 11:27                                      9/22/2009
10 October 2013       04 June 2009      10 August 2008
9/22/2009 11:09       04 June 2009      10 August 2008
8/26/2011 8:35       9/22/2009
                              10 September 2008
07 April 2014               5/18/2011                 3/16/2011
1/27/2012 14:38       5/20/2011                 5/20/2011

Thanks.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Can you attached a sample of the actual CSV file?  The above text doesn't provide a good indicator of the source data.

Hello Glenn,
I have found a work around for the problem I was experiencing.  The underlying CSV file date format was correct but when importing it into a spreadsheet via data import it lost its formatting.    I now copy the data directly from the CSV file into the analysis spreadsheet and it keeps the formatting.

Thanks
