Setup Comcast service with a Motorola SURFboard eXtreme DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless-N Cable Modem & Router
I've been requested to get a new Comcast connection setup and a client. This is new and not replacing anything. They intend to get a 75 meg line with 1 Static IP.
If they go with this modem/gateway/router and they get one Static IP from Comcast, what's the setup process? I know Comcast requires the modem be registered with their service and that can take time.
Has anyone run through this process? I'm interested in receiving first hand experience on the entire process so I can determine how to quote my time.
The main use of this will be for wireless laptop connections and a security camera system using a wired DVR with four cameras in the building. The camera video storage with be on the DVR's hard drive, not cloud based. The users want to access the DVR and review recordings remotely if there is a problem which I can support.
