Client hardware assessment tools

Hello all,

Currently I manage 6 towns that are spread out over two counties. I would like to pick the brains of the EE community for recommendations. I'm looking for a way to visually check overall health of the systems in each facility (IE: updates, hot fixes, AV status, etc...); similar to what LogMeIn is capable of presenting. Alas I've used that service and think their pricing is a bit high and having to constantly update the client on my end per use is just ludicrous in my opinion.

None of the facilities are connected together via VPN etc or share a parent DC of any kind with the exception of two. I'm interested in getting the Bomgar 200 unit but afraid to pay the $5,000.00 price tag and commit to the $800 annual tech lic fee if the unit can't display that much info or report these details on pinned clients.

Appreciate any feedback and thanks in advance.

Depending on what level of detail you need, Spiceworks is a good option for keeping an overiview of your machines, inventory, updates, virus DAT's, event logs, alerts etc.  You can set each install to log to a central server if you need a master view.

Yes a master view would be great. I've already begun looking into their product line as well. Thank you for your input and glad to be apart of the EE community.

TeamViewer is a nice alternative to LogMeIn if you're looking to move...

secunia or GFI Languard are also well recommended.
