User cant send emails to people in her Outlook 2007 contacts but can replay to emails sent to her

A member of staff is getting  the following error returned to her when she tries to send emails to people via her contact list.

However if she replies to an email sent from the email address which is causing the problem, the email get sent OK.

I have noticed that when she uses her contact list to send an email it adds the extra email address in < > signs. This seems to be what is causing the problem as if I manually type the address without the < > it works fine.

Why is Outlook adding this <extra email address>

The format of the e-mail address isn't correct. A correct address looks like this: someone@example.com. Please check the recipient's e-mail address and try to resend the message.

Maybe there is something wrong with her OAB? Can she send mail to someone who is not on her contact list?

BTW, format of email address is fine.

yes she can send fine when typing a new email address.

OK, it seems there has to be some corruption in autocomplete cache on the Outlook side.

Try to clear cache and then try to send email to one person by typing full email address, then try to send another email to the same recipient using autocomplete. Check if the email address of the recipient is correctly stored in Outlook autocomplete cache.

I have resolved the issue by deleting the three contacts from her contact list which were causing the problem. I then added them again with exactly the same details and they now work fine.

I dont think this is an issue with autocomplete as although the same problem occurs when I used the autocompleted email address, even if I go direct to the contact in her contact list and click send email from there the same issues occurs.

Its as if the contact itself is corrupt.

Any further suggestions for a better way to resolve this other than the manual method I used?
