asked on
why my intranet home page displays diferent using IP instead host-name?
Hi guys,
We developed an intranet site lets say myIntranet, it displays good, but in my company there are 5 different segments of network, let say 192.168.8.XXX and 192.168.5.XXX,
The server that holds the intranet is on the first segment, so any computer in this network segment can use http://myintranet and the page displays perfect, but the computers on the other segment can't see the page, so I put the IP address on the DNS forward lookup zones of the domain controller then the computers on segment 5 can see the page.
So if I use http://myintranet it displays good but I use http://192.168.8.xxx the page displays a little different on the same browser and the same computer.
