Outlook 2013 - Junk Folder Won't Display Items

System: Windows 7 Desktop

The "Junk E-Mail" folder has over 1,100 unread items in it (as indicated by the number next to the folder name.)

When I select the folder for viewing, the moving dots progress indicator are active; however, the folder never loads. I've let it run for over ten minutes.

Other folders load with no problems.

I have restarted Outlook, I have rebooted the OS. Still not working.

Any suggestions?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We have a similar issue with Outllook but it can happen in any folder if the view for that folder is set to Categories:
Emails show up when you select a different view such as "Date"

It does not happen for every one or all the time.  Microsoft Premier Support says this is a know issue and they will be correcting this in a patch in the 4th quarter of this year.
