Document library

Hi,

I have a document library with folders. Is it possible to show modified date of the folder to be the latest modified date of the child files/folders?

as long as you set the properties to of the child folders to inherent  the properties of the parent folder

You can do this by changing the view, what version of sharepoint are you using?

Properties inheritence can be done from parent to child and not child to parent. Which means child modified date will not reflect in parent folder.
This activity can be done using Document sets and SP Designer and remember not an easy one.
Refer this article for configuration. Though its for SP2010 but configuration and metadata are almost same.
