cannot ping PC

I have my PC plugged directly in the 2960 Cisco switch with vlan10 and I cannot ping the PC from the switch. I cannot ping from the core either. I can access the network and the Internet without any problem. Is there something in my Win 7 that blocks the ping reply? Thx

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try turning off the firewall on the windows  machine but do not disable the firewall service.  If it doesn't respond after turning off the firewall then try to disable the firewall service.
