I need to set up a report server in SQL Server for SSRS.  How do I do that?  I am running the SQL Server 2000 express and have the SQL Server Data Tools 2012 on my computer too.

As you're running SQL 2000 Express I assume you're looking for a free version of the SSRS server?  Perhaps you can look into SQL Server 2014 Express Edition with Advanced Services.  It doesn't support all SSRS features but it does have the server and designer parts.

More details on what it supports: Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2014

The download is available here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dn434042.aspx

There a similar "with advanced services" version of SQL Server 2012 Express as well: Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2012

You can download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29062

It's the 1.3GB file that you'd be interested in downloading...
