    2 scenarios:

a)login has permissions to only one user db 'TEXR'. so should the def db be TEXR only or MASTER is preferred, or does not matter?

b)when you restore TEXR with yesterday's backup with a REPLACE option, will that give error because login will 'miss' its default database for a few minutes?

The default db should the  db to use
The only issue I got was when user tried to login while that db was offline, it won't fallback to master db.
