Anyone get Google contacts to successfully sync both ways to the iPhone?

I used the following sync for setup but the sync failed to work.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you using Google Apps Gmail?  "This article is for Google Apps for Business, Education, and Government users."  If so, make sure your administrator enabled Google Sync.  Is it working at all?  One way?

Also -- if you are using normal Gmail (not Google Apps Gmail), then you cannot use Exchange / Activesync unless if you had it setup a few years ago.  They discontinued it for new devices awhile ago.

I am one of the original legacy users.   Therefore, I'm not paying for the service but I'm not sure if some key features are limited.  The attachment shows that it appears to be enabled.

Can you confirm that this setting is enabled?

Is that under the admin console, device management?  I don't see anything similar to that interface in your picture.

After doing a little more digging and asking a few friends within Google, it sounds like you have Google Apps Legacy (the free version).

Exchange support ended for that product along with regular gmail users:

If you added devices via ActiveSync prior to December 31, 2013, it will continue to work.  Any new devices (even with the same account) will be rejected.  For all new devices, you must use the other way: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/2753077

Is there another way?  Your second link is the one I've been using or do you mean I need to upgrade?

Sorry -- I meant to say that you need to either upgrade or follow the second link (which you have been doing).
