download windows steps recorder

I deleted the desktop icon for the steps controller without realizing that the icon was not just a shortcut.

How can I download the steps controller ?

    If you press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog and type psr.exe, (and press Enter) do you get Steps Recorder launching?  If so the "shortcut" you deleted was your last recording.  If you've emptied the Recycle bin this probably can't be recovered.  System Restore won't retrieve it as it's treated by Windows as data and so its status (i.e. deleted) won't be changed.
