Expression Web 2 - where to go?

I've been using Expression Web 2 (EW2) in the past, and now I need again to work on some web sites.
I know EW2 is buggy when publishing through FTP - false conflicts, very slow,..

I'd appreciate advice on where to go from here. Here are some options I can think of:

1. EW4  (did they fix the FTP publishing? what are major pluses over EW2?)
2. Dreamweaver (is it worth the learning curve?)
3. Other web editor better than those above?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How much do you rely on having a wysiwyg interface?

it's useful for testing the page display on the spot - otherwise, i use the code view a lot - i never used a non wysiwyg web editor...

i also need css and js editing... and reliable ftp publishing (both ways)

some say ew2 is better than ew4 (do not upgrade to ew4) - could that be true?

Yes, it could be true (disclaimer: I hated every Expression* product I ever tried and ragequit the line).

Obviously, wysiwyg will be the bone of contetion for you.  If you can't live without it, then give Dreamweaver a whirl (it should still have a 30 day free trial) and see if you like it.  If you CAN drop wysiwyg, I would immediately transition to Sublime and add the FTP module:
