iPhone Questions

I just got an iPhone. Some of my family has Droids & I get a message that says undeliverabal. I can turn off imessage on my iphone & I can then text them...Is it the norm for people with iPhones to have to turn off imessage just so they can communicate with others with different phones? I'd prefer to leave imessage turned on...any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The iPhone should differentiate between contacts with iMessage and those without.

Did the people you are having trouble sending to used to have iPhones?

Hi Wantabe2,

This is an SMS issue. Please go to Settings/Messages/and toggle on "Send as SMS".  Now try sending out to your friends and colleagues.

Hope this helps.

Make sure the contact info for the person you are messaging doesn't show their mobile number as an iPhone.  Then, try deleting the current conversation with that person and starting a new one.
