Excel - format date

Is it possible to reformat cell this format (20140811) to 081114?

You can't reformat the existing column/cells that this data is in and have it return a correct date format.  You can, however, derive the date in a "helper" column and then replace the original data, if desired.

If the first value - (20140811) - is in cell A1, the formula is:
=TEXT(DATE(MID(A1,2,4),MID(A1,6,2),MID(A1,8,2)),"mmddyy")

This assumes that the first value includes parentheses around the numbers.
