How should I publish my website?

Hi Guys,

For many years I've been publishing my websites using FTP.  I've recently been provided with a Win Server 2012 running IIS 8.  I'm also developing my websites in Visual Studio Pro 2013.

In this new environment, how does one move content from their PC to the Server?  Do you set up an FTP site in IIS 8 and move content to it that way?  Is there a better publishing method to move files from your PC to the Server?

Any help, suggestion and instructions would be greatly appreciated.

I would highly recommend using Web Deply:

http://www.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/web-deploy

This is an IIS 8 extension, you can package, deploy, and archive with this.  I use it in my company everyday.
