Installation of IIS on Server 2003 fails

I am trying to install IIS with the basic settings using the Manager your Server wizard.  However, i keep getting an "The application could not be intialized" error message.

It then says I should try again, but just repeats the problem.

It's on Win Server 2003 R2 with SP2

Any idea how I can fix this please?

Thanks in advance

mostly no problem ...
do you have running some other software already?
is the port 80 / 443 used by another software?

I managed to resolve this myself.  After I went to Add/Remove Programs, and then add/remove windows components, it was coming up with missing .dll errors

1)  Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\ShellExt\Setup

2)  Copy all the files and paste into C:\WINDOWS\system32\Setup

3)  Make sure to select no for files that are already present

Once the missing files have been replaced, everything seems to work with IIS and others
