Some Virtual Machine got Alert: vSphere HA virtual machine monitoring error

Hi Folks,

Is there any reason why some of the Virtual Machine got red Alert with the following description "Alert: vSphere HA virtual machine monitoring error" logged two days ago?

and in the Events: vSphere HA cannot reset this virtual machine.

I can see that those VMs are up and running with more than 100 days uptime, this happens to just one ESXi host only.

Any clue or suggestion where to diagnose or troubleshoot ?

Can you vmotion host clean and re-install it after full BIOS updates and hardware diagnostics (involving 3 days of memtest86+)?
As minimum effort click "Reconfigure this host for HA" in vcenter.

It happnes with all the versions, seems to be better in 5.5!

yeah, could it be because of the network latency between the ESXi hosts increased during that period of time ?

I had this problem with Exchange Server File Share Witness issue and CCR Cluster mailbox heart beat missed causing failover as well.

Any networking issues can cause this issue.

It sometimes just happens if VM is under heavy load and would need more resources, or simplly vmware tools installation is a lot different from what host expects.
