office 2013

I have office 2007 (32 bit) on a machine.  I want to install office 2013 but it gives me the message attached.  I try to go into the 32 bit version but it won't install.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need to uninstall Office 2007 first, restart and then install Office 2013. You cannot have two different versions of Outlook on the same machine (which may be the cause of the error) and I do not recommend 2 versions of Office because of association issues.

Just have one version of Office.

Make sure the machine is Windows 7 or greater.

I don't want to versions of office.  Sorry I didn't specify what I'm really after.  All I want from the office 2013 install is powerpoint.  I want to keep all the other programs of office 2007 except powerpoint which I want upgraded to 2013.  can this be done?  I know going from office 2000 to office 2007 it was.

Office 2013 is a complete package. Anything you can do with Office 2007 you can do with Office 2013 so you should just use the later package. It works fine for all my needs.

The Office 2013 download will install everything and that is where you are getting stuck.

I wouldn't mix PowerPoint 2013 with Excel and Word 2007. You will get problems with charting (which relys on Excel) and send to Word. If you need 2007 and 2013 (why?) I would install all three programs in 2013.

You must have only one version of Outlook but also you cannot ever have 32 and 64 bit Office modules on the same PC. You should be able to install the 32 bit version of 2013. Does it give an error? There is no 64 bit version of 2007 so if you want both you will have to use 32 bit.
