How to update database designer with new database table mappings

I have inherited a C# application written in VS 2008.  The users have requested a change to one of the tables that is used for importing an excel file.  I have an *.xsd file that had the old mappings and I changed it to have the new mappings.  However, there is a designer.cs that has the old mappings.  There is a statement at the top of this .cs file that says it was generated by a tool and changing it is not advised.

How do I get that designer updated with the new column mappings?

What designer? What .xsd? Can you elaborate your question.

This is a Linq to SQL project.  I think I figured it out.  I tried updating the dbml manually and that seems to update the code behind designer.
