I have 3 servers running Exchange 2013 on Win 2012 r2. 1 of them gives me proper State, HealthSet and AlertValue but the other two are only giving "Unknown".
I have restated the MS Exchange Health Manager service and it is running on all three servers.

Excange 2013 SP1. When I check the Microsoft-Exchange-ManagedAvailability/Monitoring log, I see the following error:

Maintenance workitem "FEP.Maintenance.Workitem" (ID: 37) has failed. Health Manager has detected it is either set to run once and failed, or has been failing consistently. Maintenance workitem failure could cause monitoring gap and should be investigated.
The error message from the last result is:
System.InvalidOperationException: Service MsMpSvc was not found on computer '.'. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The specified service does not exist as an installed service

Not sure how to get the Service MsMpSvc  on this server

    Accepted Solution

Checking the installtion logs, it was found that the Exchange installation on these two servers did not complete without errors. It was a very odd situaiton in that no other issues in function was observed.
Once the installation was restarted without errors this issue was resolved.
