"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There should be an option within Beyond Compare to maintain the ownership, permissions, and even the date/time stamps on the target machine. (NOTE: Those options are often available only if you run the copy software on the target -- that is, you're copying from the old location to the new [local] location.)

However, I would be surprised if there is an option to reset the "metadata" after the fact. In other words, you may need to do the copy over again to get that metadata re-established.
