Windows DFS Replication Manual

I have two file servers in two remote sites due to limitations in bandwidth, I want to copy the folders from the main server, then go to the far site and copy it locally, you can operate this way?, Which considerations I I must have?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

To do what you are trying to do, Prestage folder on source server to destination server

1.Back up the data by using the Backup program. You can back up to tape or to a file.
2.Transfer the backup to the destination server.
3.Restore the backup to the destination server. The hashes that are computed by DFSR for each server should be identical for files that have not changed.

This is the only supported \ best possible way to Prestage dfs replica in advance I think.
