Resolution of website name with same name domain

The website '' hosted on a remote host has the same name as the internal office network domain which is '' as well. Within the office, the website does is accessible outside the office domain but not within the office internal domain. Is there a reason for this? If so, how do I resolve it?

Yes, the problem is that when connecting to a website it will resolve it's ip address using DNS. Because internally the site is the same name as externally it will first resolve that one and connect internally.

But what is it you would like to achieve? Both sites available? The internal site no longer available? Other name available? So in other words, what happens is correct but what would you like to happen?

Thanks rhandels for your prompt response. I want boths sites available from within our internal domain. Thanks
If you want that you would need to change the name of the server internally otherwise it won't be possible. There is no way for DNS to know the difference between which ip address top connect to if both servers have the same URL.
