Change order of compilation of files in Visual Studio 2008

Hi Experts,

I've got a bunch of files (.c files actually), that need compilation.  Unfortunately the library I'm dealing with has been written with all kinds of obscure preprocessor defines and the order of compilation of my files has become important.  Note that I am not interested in compilation of projects - I really need this at the file level.

Is there a way to set dependencies at the file level for this?

    You can right-click on each file in the project tree view to either compile it manually (just select the menu entry) or choose the file's "Properties" where you can adjust pretty much everything for that individual file.
