I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. I recently was faced with a similar scenario. I had been printing plain text to a DotMatrix Printer. With the Zebra, the story is quite different and you cannot send plain text. The steps that I took were:

1 - Design the label in Zebra Designer Software. It helps to use place holders for your text which your app will supply.
2 - Save the design (on this step, I'm not sure exactly how, our designer did that for us and gave me the text file attached)
3 - Modify your app to replace the place holders in the Zebra design file and send that to the printer. Sending plain text does not get a response from the printer.

To print as many as you want, we just send the file several times to the printer (there might be a smarter way to accomplish this, but KISS... we just needed it to work... quickly)
